TV Trending Hen Locations
Well, that got us thinking about the influence that TV has on where hens choose to celebrate the end of singledom. So we asked Mike Wood, MD of Freedom, who have been planning hen parties since forever (well actually 1996, which is a seriously long time) whether he’d noticed any trend in this direction.
He got what we were thinking and came straight back with:
Benidorm – Benidorm
Would you have your hair cut at the salon at The Salano? No, we wouldn’t either. But Benidorm is a hugely popular party destination, no prizes for guessing why: the sun, sand, sangria all in copious amounts. A Benidorm hen weekend will see you working on your tan then dancing til dawn on a Benidorm binge of cheap drinks.
The Only Way Is Essex – Essex and Marbella
Amazeballs, reem, shut-up. From the moment TOWIE hit our screens Freedom were taking bookings for hen parties in Essex. Shop at Lucy’s Boutique, have a vajazzle if you must and party with the cast at Sugar Hut. So you know how the cast like to summer in Marbella, well that’s popular with our hens too, remember the mantra… no carbs before Marbs.
Geordie Shore – Newcastle
‘It’s a reet party toon’. We’re not for one moment suggesting that our hens behave as outrageously as those naughty girls, however, what the show evidently demonstrates is that Newcastle is where the party is at. We believe that a Newcastle hen night is proving so popular is down to the sheer quantity and quality of things to do, drinking in the Bigg Market being one of them.
Made in Chelsea – London
A London hen do has always been the queen of the party locations. And those Prada handbag carrying, champagne drinking, pearl-wearing privileged residents of Chelsea have helped to seal the crown for London. Fans of the show simply cannot resist an opportunity to see up-close the chic and exclusive world of the Chelsea elite.
